Becky Franks therapist

Welcome, I am a UKCP registered Integrative psychotherapist, counsellor and life coach working in the Dalston end of Stoke Newington

I work from the Humanistic and Existential schools of thought, but I am also informed by Psychodynamic, CBT, CBTi (for Insomnia and sleeping problems) neuroscience and Mindfulness based ideas. The nature of this integration allows me to go way beyond a one-size-fits-all approach to therapy, and to work with a person as an individual with their own bespoke needs and requirements.

Every person is different, and although there can be similarities (broadly speaking) in types of issues requiring therapy, such as bereavement or anger issues etc, I never treat a client based on a 'label', as there are so many other factors and influences on why a person may be struggling, and these need to come out in the process naturally and be considered. Over time the relationship and work evolves through this process and awareness, and so what a person may originally come to therapy for, may not be the only piece or place we work on together.

We can work on either a short, or open-ended basis - based on what we both consider your therapeutic needs to be - it could also transpire in the initial session that you might be better suited to a different therapy or therapist, if either of us feels that this is the case I can make futher recommendations for you.

I have completed an extensive training at both post graduate and advanced diploma level, and continue with annual professional development - through seminars and conferences - which enables me to keep abreast of the latest developments in thinking and practise. I have been working with clients in and around North London and Brighton for over 15 years. I am UKCP accredited and work in accordance with the ethical guidelines of the UK Counsel for Psychotherapy (UKCP).

My fee is on a sliding scale dependent on your income, and is £80-£100 per session, we will agree this in our initial session. Therapy sessions are weekly and last for fifty minutes. Cancellations are charged at full price if a session is missed with less than 48 hours notice.
