FAQs

How much does a session cost? £85-£100 per session depending on your income.

Do I need to pay for the initial session? Yes, the initial session is counted as our first session of work together. I do offer a free 15 minute video session initially to see if we fit, and if you want to continue to a first session.

How long does a session last? A session is 50 minutes long; AKA, ‘a therapeutic hour’.

Do you offer concesions? I'm afraid I am not able to offer concessions.

Is there a cancellation policy? Yes. I ask for 48 hours notice, otherwise the full charge will apply.

Can I take holidays? Of course! I also take holidays and travel, and will always give as much notice as possible to clients.

Do we have to meet every week, or can we meet every fortnight, or once a month? Where possible it is really important to meet every week (subject to holiday or sickness), in order for us to build our relationship, and to build and maintain psychotherapeutic momentum. We can agree to work on a short term basis (min 6 weeks), if that is your preference. This can then rollover for a further 6 weeks if both of us feel this would be helpful. I have worked with some clients for a couple of months, and others for up to 3 years. But I believe there are no hard and fast rules regarding how short, or open ended the work can be, all the while it is helpful it can be continued. So we can discuss this.

Are the sessions confidential? Yes, the sessions are confidential. As with any psychotherapist, psychiatrist or counsellor however, we have to have regular supervision sessions to ensure that we are working ethically and responsibly, but crucially, any information given is completely anonymised.

Where are you? My practise is run from a room in my house in Stoke Newington. It’s set on a pretty, private gated mews directly off of Stoke Newington road and there are stairs up to the room, so it’s not compatible for someone with very limited mobility.

How do I get there? I am within easy reach of the City, Dalston, Islington, Highbury, Finsbury Park, Tottenham, Hackney, Stamford Hill and the surrounding areas of N16.

Buses: There is a bus stop on Stoke Newington Rd which is directly in front of my road (Amhurst Road stop). You can get the 67, 76, 149 and 243 to this stop and it is a 1 minute walk to my house.

Alternatively you can get the 73, or 476 to Clissold Crescent and walk 10-15 minutes.

The 38 comes to Dalston Junction and it is a 15-20 min walk from there.

Trains: overland trains to Dalston Junction and Dalston Kingsland run very regularly.

You can also come into Stoke Newington train station and walk 15 minutes or into Rectory road station and walk 10 minutes.

Tubes: there are no direct tubes near me, but you can get to Dalston Kingsland very easily from Highbury & Islington which is on the Victoria line, and takes around 5 mins on the overland.
